Parental Reports Breakdown

SKY VILLAGE™- Trail of Spells collects data to track reading progress, such as time spent in the game, words encountered, and Sight Words learned. Reports are sent to parents on the 1st and 15th of each month, providing valuable insights into their child’s development.

Game Time Analysis

SKY VILLAGE™- Trail of Spells tracks the player’s total time spent in the game over the past 30 days. Regular gameplay, at least an hour every few days, is recommended for consistent reading improvement. This metric helps parents monitor engagement and encourages children to play enough to see meaningful progress.

Words Interacted Summary

This metric monitors the overall number of words the player has been exposed to in the game in the last 30 days. Engaging with different words and contexts within the game world supports vocabulary building, offering a dynamic way for children to learn through interaction and exploration.

Sight Words Introduced

This metric counts the Sight Words introduced since the game started. These are practiced during spell-learning activities, which are essential for reading fluency. The activity reviews how the word sounds, its definition, and examples of it used in a sentence.

Glossary Usage Pattern

This metric tracks how often players use the glossary during story-reading activities. To aid in smooth reading, your child may access a glossary of the more difficult words to have their meaning read out to them. It will help parents understand their child’s reading habits and challenges.

Hint Usage Insights

This metric monitors the frequency of hint button usage in sight word activities, identifying challenging words. This feature provides support for new readers struggling with particular words or phrases. Parents can use this information to focus on areas where their child may need additional practice or encouragement.

Read-Out Button

This metric is used to help players read difficult sections by listening. This tool aids comprehension by allowing children to hear words spoken aloud, reinforcing learning through auditory input. What you will see in the chart is the number of times your reader used the text-to-speech button across days.

Word Skill Practice Sessions Count

This metric counts the number of word skill activities engaged in by players, enhancing letter and word recognition. Regular practice through interactive puzzles helps solidify foundational language skills. These sessions provide targeted exercises encouraging players to practice reading and spelling in an enjoyable, game-based environment.

Sight Words Recognition Score

The game measures the player’s accuracy in recognizing Sight Words at regular intervals. This score indicates progress and areas needing improvement. Accurate sight word recognition is vital for reading fluency and comprehension. Regular assessment ensures that children are advancing and allows parents to track their child’s development effectively.

Reading Comprehension

This metric measures the player’s level of reading comprehension during short story reading activities called Wizard’s Tales. We present the child’s strength of comprehension results in a graph. Players engage with rich narratives, enhancing understanding and critical thinking. This feature helps build deep, lasting literacy skills.

Word Usage Accuracy

This metric measures how effectively your child uses Sight Words in sentences. The activity (or activities) involves fast-paced sentence construction while a timer counts down. The child can take as long as they want to get correct sentences. We track their progress in the chart.
